Beardy Co

The Beardy Co. trade stand in New Core City

Beardy Co. is a small trading company based in New Core City, that primarily deals in Enderpearls. Players can visit one of their trade-ins to trade their Enderpearls in for Beardy Tokens, a form of Currency.

History[]

Before the Serverpocalypse, A Beardy Co. shop was run in the Enderman Grinder by Beardy himself. Afterwards, Beardy opened up a trade-in in New Core City. When Minecraft 1.8 was released, Beardy allowed his son, Beardy Jr. to run the stand in NCC. Shortly thereafter, Beardy opened a second location in the Void, which is run by a new hire named Mort.

Description[]

The Beardy Co. Trade-Ins are stalls in various locations on the Core Server where players can trade Enderpearls for Beardy Tokens (a form of Currency), and then trade Beardy Tokens for other prizes. Each location has the same items and rates, meaning players can trust that they're getting the best deal for their pearls. The exchange rates are as follows:

  • 16 Ender Pearls - 1 Beardy Token
  • 1 Beardy Token - 3 Lapis Lazuli
  • 2 Beardy Tokens - 1 Bottle o' Enchanting
  • 4 Beardy Tokens - 1 Steak
  • 8 Beardy Tokens - 1 Book
  • 64 Beardy Tokens - 1 Emerald
  • 128 Beardy Tokens -  1 Diamond

Lore[]

After Minecraft 1.8, rumors circulated that Beardy was retiring, however these rumors proved to be false. Beardy took a short vacation, then got back to business by opening up a second location, expanding his trading empire.

Zotzz Corp has long tried to buy out Beardy Co., to make it a subsidiary of their company, but Beardy refuses to sell. He wants to keep the business in the family, without corporate interference.

Trivia[]

  • The change in shopkeeper from Beardy to Beardy Jr. was due to the fact that before Minecraft 1.8, a generic villager type existed, simply called "Villager" (as opposed to "Farmer," "Blacksmith," etc.). It was not able to spawn naturally, but using cheats or Bukkit plugins, one could be spawned. Beardy himself was one such villager. In Minecraft 1.8, this villager type was removed, causing Beardy's texture to change to the default Farmer.
  • 1,024 Beardy Tokens will get you enough emeralds to trade for a beacon.
